Shu Uemura is closing down stores and boutiques throughout the Philippines on April 30, 2017. Its branch at the Power Plant Mall in Rockwell, Makati will be the last one to close. So shoppingeras and make-up aficionados reading this, make sure to stock up on your favorite Shu Uemura products especially the eyelash curler that's well-loved and considered a holy grail in the beauty industry.

L’Oréal Philippines, the company who serves as Shu Uemura's official distributor in the country, has admitted that closing down Shu Uemura brand in the Philippines was strictly a business move. 

"L’Oréal Philippines has become a strong market player in the local beauty market. To prepare for our future and to strengthen our position, we have decided to make choices within our brand portfolio. We have made a decision to discontinue the sales of Shu Uemura products in the Philippines," Preview reported L’Oréal Philippines as saying.
